50 Years of Victory
Arctic - Expedition Cruises
50 Years of Victory, a nuclear-powered icebreaker, is the largest and most advanced polar exploration vessel of its type in the world. The first Arktika-class icebreaker to have a spoon-shaped bow for greater efficiency in icebreaking capabilities, it also features a new digital automated control system. Designed with a stainless steel ice belt 5 metres (18 feet) wide, the ship has the highest possible ice class rating and can break through ice up to 2.5 metres (9.2 feet) thick, allowing exploration of some of the most remote areas of the Russian Arctic regions and North Pole. The cabins are generously sized and comfortable and there is also plenty of public space.
