Australian Prices

In order to comply with the rules regulating price advertising set by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), Tucan Travel has created a document which shows the combined price of each of our group tours in Australian dollars.

The combined price is made up of the Tour Price, which is normally published separately in Australian dollars, plus a Local Payment or Local Fund which is normally published separately in US dollars or Euros (depending on the destination). We have calculated the combined price using the current conversion rate 1 USD = A$1.2 or 1 EUR = A$1.75. Due to fluctuations in foreign exchange rates, the combined price is subject to change. 

In reality nothing has changed in terms of how Australian travel agents and clients will book tours with us. We will continue to collect a Tour Price which is paid to a travel agent or direct to Tucan Travel before travel, as well as a Local Payment or Local Fund, which is an integral part of the overall tour cost and is paid in cash to the tour leader, usually on day 1 of the tour.
