Tucan Travel Annual Christmas Celebrations
Each year, the Tucan Travel office in Cuzco coordinates our Christmas gift to the local children and one of our drivers has the chance to get kitted out in a Papa Noel (Santa Claus) outfit! Hundreds of underprivileged children gather for hot chocolate, traditional sweet bread and the chance to visit Papa Noel. To top it off, each child is presented with a Christmas gift as Tucan Travel tour leaders, drivers and passengers all join forces to bring as much Christmas cheer as possible to the children of Cuzco.
LATA Foundation
Tucan Travel is pleased to support the work of the LATA Foundation which is UK based charity (Registered Charity No. 1123580) dedicated to promoting responsible business practices in the tourism industry as well as sustainable development, conservation and poverty relief in Latin America. Tourism Concern
Tucan Travel supports Tourism Concern, an organisation dedicated to minimising the negative impact of worldwide tourism. Tourism Concern works to raise awareness and implement change by involving both tourism organisations and host communities. After becoming involved with Tourism Concern’s campaign for the working rights of porters, Tucan Travel continues to work to overcome social barriers and follow guidelines for porters on the Inca Trail.

Travel companies and operators are only accepted as members of the site once they have proved they are dedicated to operating in a responsible manner enabling travellers to book their holiday with confidence.
International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators (IAATO)
Tucan Travel is an associate member of the International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators (IAATO), a member organisation founded in 1991 to advocate, promote and practice safe and environmentally responsible private sector travel to Antarctica. Much has been speculated about the affects of tourism on the Antarctic, however IAATO firmly believes that the knowledge and appreciation derived from responsible tourism activity actually brings substantial benefits to the conservation of the region. All Tucan Travel voyages closely follow guidelines laid out by IAATO including environmental monitoring of the vessel and carefully supervised and controlled landings. Passengers are fully briefed on correct behaviour when in the vicinity of wildlife and are forbidden from taking any food or drink from the ship ashore.
