Motor Vessel Professor Molchanov
Antarctica Region - Expedition Cruises

MV Professor Molchanov is named after Professor Pavil Alexandric Molchanov, a famous USSR meteorologist, born in 1893. Built in 1983 in Finland, and originally designed as an ice-strengthened oceanographic research vessel, MV Professor Molchanov has been refitted and converted into a modern and comfortable expedition cruise vessel under long-term contract by Oceanwide Expeditions.
The vessel has a good anti-roll system perfect for polar seas and a range of 70 days independent operation. The ship features a large bridge (where passengers are almost always welcome) and good open deck-viewing areas. MV Professor Molchanov also has a sister vessel MV Professor Multanovskiy.
