The perfect travel destination for teachers

As a teacher you may already be the envy of all your friends for having the opportunity to jet off to anywhere you want on your extended summer, Easter and Christmas holidays, but those long hours of work you put in should be rewarded. That’s why we’ve devised four of our favourite tours based around four different teaching personalities to help get you inspired.

For teachers that love wine

If after a long day of teaching a class you enjoy nothing more than kicking back with a glass of wine, then South America is the place to be. More specifically Argentina. Experience diverse flavours of wine and their tantalising aromas on our Bolivia, Chile and Argentina tour taking you across the scenic views of the famous wine route (also known as the Ruta de los vinos). After coming face-to-face with the iconic salt flats of Bolivia, the tour visits the laid-back city of Mendoza, Argentina at the heart of the wine valley. Here you will get the chance to tour ancient wine cellar and working wineries which are known to produce some of the fines Malbec in the world.

For teachers that love adventure

Whilst there are incredible destinations out there that can appeal to your inner explorer, we’re all about going the extra mile and getting off the beaten track to those lesser known places that are just as – if not more stunning and worthy of travelling to. Georgia is one of these countries, and also perfect for lovers of the great outdoors. Between Europe and Asia in the mountainous Caucasus region lies Georgia, which is filled with old world charm from ancient towns and a popular destination for keen hikers and climbers.

Ushguli, Georgia

For teachers who want to soak up the culture

Sri Lanka is the perfect combination of a destination that lets you unwind as its filled with astonishing views of tea plantations, waterfalls and beaches to catch the sun in. If you’re looking to experience more of the country’s rich cultural heritage, Sri Lanka has you covered. There are 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites – six cultural and two natural, including the mountainous city of Kandy and the ancient city of Sigiriya which are two of the main stops on our Jewels of Sri Lanka tour.

For teachers looking for a festive getaway

Countries in Europe are notorious for holding some of the most amazing Christmas and New Years celebrations, with everything from Christmas markets to decorated streets and shops. But what if you had a little bit of extra time to getaway? Christmas and the New Years in Colombia is filled with celebrations from as early as November and involves fireworks, Christmas lights in city centres and the lighting of candles in local neighbourhoods.
