1. Gorilla & Chimpanzee Trekking, Uganda

Mexico’s magical sights, culture and ancient temples can be enjoyed all year round. However, if you are after a few days at the beach following your adventure of Mexico, then the dry season is the best time to visit. Prepare for clear blue skies, little rain and temperatures around 25-30 degrees Celsius. Easily one of the best places to go in January if you want some sunshine.
Although located on a different continent, the weather conditions in Colombia are very similar to Mexico in January. The dry season runs from December to March with temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius and pleasant water temperatures. Ideal weather to explore the Caribbean city Cartagena and enjoy a trip to tropical Tayrona National Park. Colombia can be enjoyed all year round, especially if you’re after an adventure tour, rather than a beach holiday.
4. Phuket, Thailand
Phuket is the largest and possibly the most famous island in Thailand. The island is popular amongst travellers for the idyllic beaches, beautiful waters and variety of adventurous activities that visitors can enjoy. Phuket is one of the best places to go in January as it’s the dry season and experiences temperatures over 30s degrees Celsius.
What you’ll see during your visit to Antarctica largely depends on the time of year you choose to travel. If you have particular things you want to see then it’s best to plan your trip around this. However, for anyone who isn’t fussed about seeing a particular animal and is in it for the experience then we recommend travelling in January. Why, you ask? January is summer in the Antarctic. It’s when it’s the warmest and has the most daylight hours, meaning you’ll get long days. Although it certainly still gets cold, you’ll probably be able to stay outside for longer without craving the comfort of your cabin.
The travel season in Patagonia is very narrow, with tours only running in the South American summer months from October through to March. Being located in the southern part of South America which is also the gateway to the Antarctic it’s not surprising that the best time to visit Patagonia is also in January. Days are perfect for hiking with mostly clear blue skies and comfortable temperatures – but bear in mind that the temperature can change significantly with change in altitude.
Cuba is one of the best places to visit in January. The dry season runs from December through to May, with temperatures from 25-32 degrees Celsius. There is particularly little rain in January making it the perfect sunny getaway. Enjoy the bustling and artistic atmosphere of historic Havana, have a cocktail overlooking the coastline and explore beautiful Vinales on a walking tour.
Belize is a dream for anyone looking for a change of scenery. Whether you’re after a few days at the beach, venturing into the jungle or discovering some of the ancient sites, Belize lets you switch off. The dry season runs from November through to April with comfortable temperatures in the high 20s degrees Celsius which are perfect for any visitor, no matter if you’re in it for temple-ploring or relaxing on the white sand beaches.

If you’d like to explore this stunning country then January is one of the best times to make your way here. In the main cities Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, the gateway to Angkor Wat, you can expect temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius and mostly dry weather while the coastal region is slightly cooler but with comfortably warm water temperatures making Cambodia one of the best places to visit in January.

India is the perfect destination for anyone who wants to broaden their horizons and experience something completely different. India is one of the best places to visit in January because it’s winter and the dry season. That means you can ditch the heat of the summer months and explore sights at ease with comfortable temperatures and little rain. Around Delhi and Rajasthan you can expect day temperatures between 15-25 degrees Celsius. But be prepared for colder nights, nighttime temperatures in Jaipur, Rajasthan can fall as low as the zero mark.
