Today is an arrival day in Kathmandu.
Day 2 to 5 - Pokhara – Gandruk – Chumrung – Dovan
We make our way to Pokhara, passing through various low-lying villages and the gateway to the Annapurna region for trekking. There are even more beautiful views of snow-capped peaks, blue lakes and rivers to take in. The deep valleys and high mountains surrounding the Annapurna Himal include varied terrain, from subtropical jungle to a high, dry landscape.
After a night in the pictureque Pokhara, we drive to Nayapul nestled in the Annapurna foothills. Remote villages are overlooked by rolling hills a lush green and streams trickle through the valleys. The first day of trekking lasts for five hours as you pass through a birch forest and rice terraces.
A six hour day, the difficulty of this part of the trek varies from flat terrain to steep hills. You pass through Gurung villages. From Chumrung the hike descends downhill, crossing the Chumray Khola river. We will stop for a while in Sinuwa Danda and get to know the locals before continuing on through the forests to Dovan.
Day 6 to 7 - Machepuchare Base Camp – Annapurna Base Camp
Today we reach Machapuchhare Base Camp at 3,700m. It takes approximately 7 hours to reach the camp. You will pass shrines and caves, cross streams and huge deforested areas. Reaching the camp, your guide will help you identify the many peaks in sight.
We wake early to make the most of our time at Annapurna base Camp. The route is often covered in snow and very windy but on reaching the top, the views are worth every step taken.
Day 8 to 13 - Dovan – Jhinu Danda – Sauli Bazzar – Pokhara
This morning you can wake up early to watch the sunrise over the mountains before retracing your steps back down to Dovan, passing the Machepuchare Base Camp where you had spent the night before.
Decending further, we pass Chomrong before reaching Jhinu Danda at 1750m. Here you can relax in a natural hot spring, bathing your feet and recuperating before the final few days of trekking ahead.
We spend the last night of our trek in Sauli Bazar before reaching Pokhara, where our adventure began. There are many adventure sports available in this park. You will spend two nights here before returning to Kathmandu.
