Itinerary

Day 1 to 1 - Reykjavik
Your journey across Iceland’s dramatic landscapes and natural wonders begins by hopping on to a shuttle bus that will transfer you from the airport to our first included accommodation of the trip. Arrive in the artistic and innovative capital of Reykjavik which is known to be one of the greenest cities. Reykjavik is not only one of the first cities to run on renewable energy but is also dedicated to sustaining its ‘green spaces’.
Tonight is a free evening to enjoy at your leisure. Why not maximize your chances of seeing the magical Northern Lights by booking onto an optional tour. This can be booked through the front desk of your accommodation.

Day 2 to 2 - Hella & The Blue Lagoon
This morning we get further acquainted with Reykjavik. Meet your guide at 9am before embarking on a city tour where you’ll spend time marvelling at vibrant artwork displayed across murals and alleyways as well as admiring the city’s impressive modern architecture.
Next it’s time for a dip in the iconic Blue Lagoon. Formed in 1976, the warm steamy waters of this luxury spa are said to have natural cleansing and healing properties that are good for the skin. After soaking up the beauty of the lagoon we head to the small agricultural village of Hella where our base will be for the next two nights.
Arriving around 6pm, enjoy a local dinner before the search for the illusive Northern Lights begins. Start with a presentation from your guide and a few short lectures about how the lights form before heading out to try and spot them for yourself.

Day 3 to 3 - Seljalandsfoss Waterfall
Today Hella acts as a gateway as we drive further south to explore waterfalls and glaciers. Our first stop is the high but narrow Seljalandsfoss waterfall which you can see plunging from the nearby mountain. Next we visit the neighbouring Skogar Folk Museum to learn more about local agriculture including the tools, arts and crafts used and produced over the years by locals.
At an impressive 60 meters high, our next stop is the famous Skógafoss waterfall. Enjoy lunch in front of the falls while admiring its beauty before we head further south of the island. This afternoon you have the option to book a glacier walk. On this moderate walk you explore ice sculptures, rock formations and the deep crevasses of the Sólheimajökull glacier while learning about glacier behaviour and the effect this has on Icelandic nature. If you opt not to do the walk, your group will continue to the coastal village of Vík. Here you can stroll on the black lava beach and observe the incredible bird cliffs at Reynisfjara.
In the early evening, head back to Hella and hopefully catch the Northern Lights swirling across the sky!

Day 4 to 4 - Gullfoss Waterfall & The Icelandic Pony
In the morning we visit a local horse stable where you will come face-to-face with the one-of-a-kind Icelandic pony, a small breed of horse that originates from Iceland. After this, we visit a geothermal greenhouse. Thanks to the natural geothermal environment, farms are able to grow a range of vegetables year round in these greenhouses, despite Iceland's long and dark winters.
Along the famous Golden Circle you will find yourself immersed amongst the breathtaking landscapes and clouds of mist of the Gullfoss Waterfall which is located within the canyon of the mighty Hvita river. Observe the steam rising from geysers along the way, as we make a stop at the original, and now dormant geyser known as Strokkur. Wait in anticipation for it to erupt at 5 - 10 minutes intervals.
Your encounter with Iceland’s effortless natural beauty continues with a visit to the famous Pingvellir National park. The part itself is notable for its tectonic plates, icy lakes and the majestic Silfra Gorge.
After a long day of exploration, we return to the Reykjavik to unwind at the hotel.
