Giving Something Back
The LATA Foundation is a UK-based charity dedicated to promoting sustainable development, conservation and poverty relief in Latin America, as well as responsible business practices in the tourism industry. Established in 2008, the foundation helps support grass-root projects that genuinely benefit communities throughout the region.
Donations from Tucan Travel have helped LATA with:
- The planting of 20,500 trees in three communities in Peru.
- Funding a cottage industry in Guatemala producing natural cosmetics using locally-sourced ingredients.
- A wast-management and recycling project in Brazil.
- Working with Children of the Andes, a charity in Colombia which supports vulnerable children and young people.
- Setting up a new clinic providing free dental care to disadvantaged children in Buenos Aires, Argentina
