Why a group adventure makes a great singles holiday
Our hundreds of exciting group adventures not only offer single travellers a unique holiday experience, they are also the perfect opportunity to meet like-minded people and forge friendships that will last long after you finish travelling through some of the most exciting destinations on Earth.
One of the fundamentals of a genuine travel adventure is the people you are with as you discover amazing new countries and lively new cultures so different to your own. Whether your adventure experience is trekking through Inca ruins in the mountains of South America or just lying back on a traditional Nile River felucca as all the vivid sights, sounds and smells of Egyptian life in the Nile Valley drift past you, your memories will be hugely enriched by the people you meet and travel with on your tour.
The beauty of our group tours means that if you are a single traveller looking for something different on your holiday, you will be sharing the genuine travel experience – be it sipping tea with locals somewhere within the labyrinth of Beijing’s alleyways or just five metres away from a feeding lion in the Serengeti – with many other single travellers who are also there for the same experience and looking for other people to share the experience with.
Many of the experiences you enjoy on an adventure tour will be unlike anything you are used to in your own country. As the other members of your group will be on the same adventure as you, seeing and trying such different things also for the first time, connections are often made deeper and faster than they might be in your everyday life. This can often mean that people on tour feel they know each other a much longer time than the first few days they have spent together. This is also why so many lasting friendships are made on our adventure tours and carried on long after the travellers have returned home.
Who will I meet on a group tour?
Your fellow travellers will come from all walks of life and from all parts of the globe and can be aged anywhere from 18 to 60, depending what travel style you are on (our Budget Expeditions are aimed at under 35-year-olds). There may be some who are couples, but many more will be single travellers, so either way it is guaranteed that you’ll meet a number of like-minded people and even maybe form some lifelong friendships.
On average groups can be anywhere from four to 15 clients, but again this depends on the travel style with a maximum usually of between 18 and 34.
Many of our adventures form part of a modular system; therefore group numbers can change at different times. This provides another great opportunity to meet an even more diverse range of people!
