Tours Meeting Rio Carnival
Get Ready to Party!
We have Rio Carnival packages designed to be added on to one of the many longer tours that will be in Rio in time for Carnival. Below is a full list of all tours that will coincide with Rio Carnival 2012 on their itineraries.
If your tour is meeting Rio Carnival your tour will cost a little bit extra compared to other departure dates. This cost is added to cover the higher cost of accommodation on the arrival or departure dates of the first or last day of your tour.
Rio Carnival Group Package
Our tours DO NOT include accommodation during Rio Carnival, even if your tour arrives in Rio in the middle of its itinerary. It is your responsibility to arrange accommodation in Rio de Janeiro if you do not wish to purchase our Rio Carnival Group Package.
If you want to spend extra time in Rio during the Carnival period, we offer a special Group Package that you can combine with your tour. This package is only available for passengers on a Group Tour with Tucan Travel. Due to the popularity of Rio Carnival, we block-book hotel rooms well in advance in order to secure availability. We offer a four-night carnival hotel package on a shared room basis with breakfast included and a sector 13 (or equivalent) Sambadrome ticket for the Sunday evening. Unfortunately, hotels in Rio de Janeiro do not sell rooms for less than four-nights at a time during the celebrations so we can not book fewer nights than this for you. The cost of this four night package is per person on a shared basis.
Independent Rio Carnival Packages
We also have packages that include accommodation and Sambadrome tickets for anyone that is looking to join in this festive spectacle, but are not part of a longer tour. These packages offer a varying standard of accommodation, beginning with our Standard package. There are also upgraded packages available in our Comfort category. These packages are similar to the Group Package but include a City Tour.
Rio Carnival Dates
Rio Carnival is always celebrated the weekend before the beginning of Lent.
2013 - Saturday 9th - Tuesday 12th February
2014 - Saturday February 28th - Tuesday 4th March
The following tours will be either departing from or arriving in Rio to coincide with the fabulous festivities of Rio Carnival. Look out for the 'rc' next to the departure date. There will be some tours that arrive in Rio in time for Carnival in the middle of an itinerary also.
