Rio Carnival Tours

Rio Carnival is the biggest street party in the world, with thousands of people flocking to Rio de Janeiro each year to celebrate the famous festival. Central to it all is the Sambadrome parade, where samba schools battle it out to win the hearts and minds of the audience with outrageous costumes, fabulous floats and elaborate dance routines set to the infectious rhythm of samba drums.

The Sambadrome parades are on all week but the most spectacular displays occur on Sunday and Monday night. All Tucan Travel Rio Carnival packages and tour extensions attend Sambadrome on Sunday night. There are also free street pageants and block parties from dusk until dawn and a variety of themed carnival balls on offer throughout the city.

How to get there?

There are several ways to reach Rio Carnival with Tucan Travel. If you are booked on a group tour that meets Rio Carnival we have exclusive 5-day extensions which include your accommodation and ticket to the Samba parade in Sambadrome. If you are not travelling on a Tucan Travel group tour we have a selection of Rio Carnival packages in various hotel levels which can be booked independently.

We strongly recommend that you book your Rio Carnival package early as this is a very popular event can sell out.

Prices for Rio Carnival are generally finalised mid-year. If you are booking the package using the previous year's prices, it is important to be aware that prices may increase closer to carnival time and the increase will be passed on even if the price changed after you had booked and paid in full.
